Invitation to the Dunedin Highland Games

To All Clan Brethren:

The Dunedin Highland Games Committee cordially invites you to the 34th Annual Dunedin Highland Games and Spring Clan Gathering in sunny Dunedin, Florida----sister city to Stirling, Scotland.

We also will be holding our annual Military Tattoo on March 25th, Saturday, from 7:30 pm to around 10:30 pm at Dunedin High School Memorial Stadium on Pinehurst Road off State Road 580. This year, in honor of the Millenium, we are adding a "Calling of the Clans" and a "Parade of Tartans" to the Tattoo at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

We are respectfully requesting that each of you send or arrange a representative to display one or preferably more than one (ie standard, ancient, hunting, etc.) of your Clan or Organization's tartan or banner. One flag, one person, two flags, two persons, etc....... Our lofty goal for this Millenium show is to display 100 tartan flags and banners in front of our castle facade while over 100 pipers mass among them.

We always have quite a show at the Tattoo, and this year promises to be special again with the US Marine Band from Parris Island as a featured band, along with our own award winning City of Dunedin band, the two highlander bands of Dunedin, Tampa Bay Pipe Band, New Port Richey Celtic Band, Collier HS Scottish Band from Naples and many others.

We look forward to having you there to proudly dislay your colors at what promises to be the largest gathering of the clans outside of Grandfather Mountain! Please call Jim Burgess, Clanmaster, at: (727)723-2822 or e-mail him at: Alden38@aol.com to confirm your Clan participation at this event and ask ank questions....of course. Flag-bearers are admitted free....others will need to pay $8 in advance, $10 at the gate....

Slainte! Yours aye, Mike Dunlap VP of Clan Dunlop, Dunedin Highland Games Committee.
